Frequently asked questions
What are Monthly Active Users (MAUs)?
Monthly Active Users are end users who have called your APIs at least once in the last month. Whether you set up an API portal or an API store, your Monthly Active Users are calculated the same way. If you stay on the Start plan, we will make sure to compute Monthly Active Users you have on your portal/ store on that plan. If you upgrade from a free trial to a paid plan, we will make sure to calculate Monthly Active Users based on the paid period.
What if I go over my Monthly Active Users amount?
You cannot be blocked because you have reached the Monthly Active User limit associated with your account. Instead, as we track these MAU, we will contact you to discuss your current plan and how we can best help you based on the number of monthly active users you expect to have in the coming month.
How can I estimate my Monthly Active Users?
To get an idea of how many Monthly Active Users you have, first make sure you follow the tracking we display on the dashboard. Then, keep in mind that your MAU numbers will change based for example on your acquisition rate of new users, retention rate of existing users and reactivation of old users... Try to anticipate your next actions to be able to best estimate your Monthly Active Users.
How to understand the limit of calls per month?
The limit of API calls corresponds to the limit of API calls your end users can make on your API portal or on your API store. With the Start plan for instance, that means your end users can call your APIs up to 25 million times per month.
What if I go over my API call limit?
Be careful not to be blocked because of the API call limit of your Blobr account. That should not happen as we will send you reminders when you reach 80% and 100% of your plan limit. You can also very rapidly upgrade your account, directly from the dashboard.
How can I estimate my API call limit?
This answer is closely related to Monthly Active Users. What you can do is try to understand how many new users you can get in a month, how many existing users are likely to increase their API consumption, what your churn rate might be. This way, you will be able to get an idea of how many API calls you are prone to get in a month.
